Ladies Weekend

Last weekend, Mike celebrated (a very belated) 40th birthday with his good friend Chris Richardson by going to the Big Ten tournament in Chicago.  Alone with the girls, we set off to have a celebratory weekend of our own.

First up: a trip to Madison to visit Tia Mimi!
It was gorgeous weather so we spent time playing outside and taking a long walk with the girls. Above you will see evidence of Alice in a sandbox - we are slowly overcoming the fear of less than solid surfaces beneath her little feet.
This is the crew - three little ladies and two (slightly tired) mommies - 2nd mommy is the camerawoman.

Saturday morning was spent at the Madison Children's Museum - even lamby made the trip.

The water room was a big hit - Alice got to fill and pour cups of water dripping out of spouts to her heart's content. She is featured above in the trendy smocks provided by the museum to keep kids (sort of) dry.

Even Scarlet got in on the water room action.
We left the museum and Mandy and I managed to enjoy lunch at Collectivo with the munchkins - above you can see Emily literally passed out face down on me, its time to get these girls in the car for a much-needed nap.
Then it was on to Milwaukee - I had some parade-goers to meet up with!

We helped celebrate St. Patrick's Day in 'Tosa at the St. Patrick's Day Parade with the Chenhalls and whole bunch of Beehners (not photographed).

Next up, dinner at the Chancery with all my cousins: 7 adults and 7 children! Our waitress was a saint!

We had a great weekend, although we missed Dad the whole time. After putting this blog together, I thought it might be fun to take a little look back...check out this side-by-side comparison:
