To Omaha We Go!

For Labor Day Weekend, Mike and I ventured ALL THE WAY to Omaha, NE (a trip that was about 4 years late!) to see our dear friends Chris and Jill Peters and their adorable little girls. Luckily, Kelley and Chen also made the voyage to the great corn state and we all got to enjoy the weekend together.

On our first morning there, we went to see the Omaha Zoo.  This kids were excited (but so was I).
Here are  few shots from our zoo trip:

Hey, its not just for kids.

Juliette and Claire really get along well now - here is a bit of evidence...

We then got to enjoy a Mexican BBQ at Casa de Peters compliments of the cooking styles of Mr. Eduardo Chenhalls.  Kelley surprised Chen by dressing the girls in matching Mexico jerseys!!

The next day, we did a bit of lounging around. The girls got to enjoy a backyard sprinkler and the adults slowly migrated to the only shade in the backyard.

Here is Jill with a very wet Lily.
And a very wet Claire.
Finally, on our last night, the parents enlisted the help of two young babysitters to free the adults to hit the town! And hit it, we did. Here we are at a classic steakhouse in Omaha at the beginning of our night.
And finally, the crew just before getting ready to go. It was a great night.

It was a great weekend. Thank you Chris and Jill for putting all of us up in your house for the weekend. Love you!!

Ulao Creek Music Festival 2012

On August 25th, 2012, Mike did it again. From a small idea of wanting to get people together to simply enjoy live music, to what has become the annual kick-ass party of the summer.  We once again invaded the Hoppe Farm for live music, friends, booze, and fires...lots of fires. This year was posed to be the biggest year yet with some huge bands signing up, the Hotel Foster organizing a shuttle to transport people to and from downtown, and word of mouth constantly growing.

We were lucky enough to have the support of our wonderful family...

Even the munchkins made it this year!!

The Canvasmen put on quite the show...here are just a few of my favorite shots.

We cannot forget the Canvasmen's number 1 fan....Mr. Tommy Ives.

The night partied on long after the Canvasmen rocked the stage. Thank you to all the people that put in time sitting at the Donation Tent.  This year we actually made enough money to pay the bands!! A wonderful, amazing accomplishments thanks to the help of so many spectacular friends and family.

The night rocked on....some fell asleep early, a few stayed up all night long, and many, many more partied like they meant it....which is all Mike really wanted.

Until next year....
