Happy Halloween

Halloween arrived and, with it, Alice's first pumpkin carving experience.  You can see from above that she was very excited.

She got right in there and dug around - but all of the pumpkin contents when straight into her mouth (which gave me a nervous breakdown that she was going to choke on pumpkin seeds...all survived).

Then, came the trick-or-treating!!

Thanks to Nama, Alice was decked out as a little witch this Halloween.
And, she had a coven to join as her cousins were witches too! (Magdalenne made a point of telling people that Alice was a witch without a green face)
You've just got to love how completely freaked out Alice looks in these pictures.
It was absolutely freezing that night, so this is how she actually looked when we left to knock on some doors.
She really got into the trick-or-treating game and was thrilled to find out that those little things being put into her bag all night were actually candy!!
Emily didn't seem to notice the festivities going on around her...although in her defense, she didn't get any candy.
Happy Halloween!

Flashback Blog

I recently uploaded pictures from our camera and discovered a few forgotten gems...

So, will you travel back in time with me to a hot day in August when we were lucky enough to have all the girls together to enjoy an afternoon in the Chenhall's backyard.

(Sorry Scarlet - this was the best one out of the bunch)

What Alice Has Been Up To

While we've all been getting used to (and adoring) our newest addition...here is a post dedicated to the happenings in Big Sister's life.

She goes to the park a lot...it's across the street from our house now.

She has learned how to climb into things.

She has discovered the joy of fallen leaves.

And, she is  playing with her new little sister.

Life As We Know It

We are all starting to get used to having Emily in this family of ours.  Alice has been able to get a lot more one-on-one time with Dad.

Emily has started opening her eyes and looking around a bit.

But, who are we kidding...she mostly looks like this:

But, sometimes while she sleeps, she does this:

And that is pretty great.

Emily Jane is Born

On the morning of September 26th, we had a surprise arrival of our second daughter.  She came into this world with unexpected speed and determination - I am curious how this might reflect on her personality.  At 9:47am, just 42 minutes after arriving at the hospital, Emily emerged with 7lbs 3 oz of weight and a healthy scream.

We're hoping the grumpy old man face is just a passing phase.

Alice met her sister with mild interest.

By Saturday afternoon, we were ready to bust out of there and bring our little bundle home.  And so, life with two under two begins...

Quick Dance Break

I haven't had a lot of time to document lately, I've been busy watching scenes like this. Enjoy!

Scenic Shore 150

A couple of weeks ago, my parents took part in the Scenic Shore 150 for the second time! Alice, Mike and I came in the morning to see them off.

Alice wasn't so sure about those bike helmets.
Ready to go!
They're off!
