Scenic Shore 150

One day, my mom called and said she wanted to know if Mike and I wanted to bike 150 miles from Mequon to Door County.
"Hmm, sounds interesting. Let me check with Mike." -Kathy

"Mike, do want to bike 150 miles?" -Kathy
"Sure." -Mike
"Really?" -Kathy
"Wait, 'no' was a possibility?"

And so, we agreed. Here are the results.

 Luckily, mom packed Fireball.

We all took a big swig at the 100 mile mark!!

Most of the time, this was my view (or from farther away because I often lagged behind)

Mom and Dad look like they're still having fun at the rest stop - Mike is in the background wondering how he got himself into this.

The second day was definitely more beautiful, we even found these endless fields of sunflowers!

We look pretty rough...but we made it!! Thanks Bob and MJ for encouraging us to come on this crazy mission!! Let's just hope our rear ends heal quickly.

Beehners to the Lake House

We were lucky enough to have Mandy and Kei in Wisconsin for several weeks during their transition from Hong Kong to San Francisco.  One lucky weekday evening in July, we all met up at Mike's family's lake house and spent the evening together.

The early evening we got to enjoy some serious swimming time - although there isn't any photographic evidence.  Juliette got brave enough to dunk her whole head underwater (falling backwards just like Tia Kathy).  Magdalenne got better with the water, but didn't want anything to do with any sort of flotation device - least of all paradise island (our gigantic floating coach).

Quickly, some storm clouds rolled in and we moved our party inside.  The boys braved the storm to grill up some delicious food:

While the ladies got snuggly:

We feasted and played games and had an all around good time.  The next morning we enjoyed a bit of time together before everyone headed back to reality/work.

We are glad to have you guys back, Mandy and Kei!!

Mandy and Kei Move Home!!!

That is right...the Kondos are back in the United States!!! The family gathered at our house on Friday night to welcome them home.

And the next day, the Chenhalls hosted a Mexican BBQ in their honor.

I had a little photo shoot with Miss Magdalenne - I couldn't pick my favorite - so here they are:

Tia Mimi got a chance to reconnect with her nieces. (Please note in the video that Magdalenne "thinks" that she is doing cartwheels just like Tia Mimi!!)

It was finally time to get serious about eating some delicious food prepared by the Master chef...the Chen.

Ok, not too serious!

Mandy got ahold of my camera and snapped a few shots of Mike and I - one posed and one definitely not posed.

All the while, Magdalenne was on the move...

Thanks for stopping by my blog!
